To be loved by a dragon is to be treasured.
A hundred years ago, werewolf Alpha Montgomery took a risk driven by desperation—he borrowed money from the ancient dragon Warwick Ehecatl, putting up the pack lands as collateral. Now the debt is due, and dragons don’t forget—or forgive. Warwick demands Montgomery’s son, Avery, and three businesses as compensation. As an Omega, Avery knows he is basically useless to his pack, so he might as well agree. He soon has second thoughts, though. Warwick is fearsome, and he’s free to do as he likes with Avery.
Warwick knows his race’s reputation, and he even admits some of it is deserved. But he’d rather cut off his tail than let his innocent mate’s light go out. It won’t be easy, but buried deep, there’s something between them worth safeguarding.
A Dragon is My Mate
Who doesn’t love a good Dragon Story? This one was awesome. It’s a simple, but engrossing, story of an alpha who needs money and borrows some from a dragon and years later when it comes due he can’t pay it back. When the dragon sees his youngest son, Avery, it’s love at first sight. He asks for three of his businesses and his youngest son. When Avery sees the dragon it’s love at first sight for him too. They both don’t know it until the end though. The rest of the book is about the mating ritual, except the last two chapters are like an epilogue. It wraps it up very well.
I loved Avery. He is is an Omega who feels useless and ignored. He’s really a contradiction. Omegas are typically meek and need taken care of, but Avery is stronger than anyone thinks and has a really good head on his shoulders. He has a great sense of humor too. I loved reading his thoughts. He is perfect for Warwick, the Dragon. They go perfectly together like peanut butter and jelly. Avery is truly Warwick’s missing other half. His soulmate.
Warwick is a loan shark, but an honest and fair one. You never hear of one like that. He is ancient and has been around a very long time. When we first read about him he is like steel and straightforward and seems like he has no heart or compassion. After he meets Avery and gets to know him a little bit, we see a different side to Warwick. I like this side. His castle is magnificent and is the stuff of dreams. He also is not your typical dragon. We read about the powers he has and what he can do. It’s really interesting and I won’t say what it is cause you need to find out yourelf. It’ll blow you away though.
I loved how this story ended. It was very surprising and fantastic. I won’t say anymore cause you got to read it yourself. You’ll love it though.
I would really like a part two of this story. There needs to be another book. I hope the author reads this and really thinks about my suggestion of another book. I think it would be great to read about the life of Warwick and Avery and their married life. I’d love to read what they’re life is like a year after their mating. Warwick being a dragon who has lived such a long time, someone from his past can come to cause trouble or whatever. I think the second book could be very exciting. This first book was not action packed because it was about Warwick and Avery meeting and going through the mating ritual and getting to know each other, but I think the second book could have some good action and suspense and tell about their married life and even get Avery’s family in there a bit. I think it could be beyond excellent. So I hope the author reads this and really thinks about this idea.
Needless to say, I really highly highly recommend this book. If you love dragon stories and even werewolf and dragon stories, then you will absolutely love this book. I guarantee it. Go and get yourself a copy. You won’t be sorry.
