Two lovers from rival packs. Have they come together only to be forced apart?
Alec Knight, a beta in the Regent’s Park pack, guards his heart carefully. Ghosts from his past keep him alone and angry, any hope of a relationship impossible while guilt from the pack wars still haunts him. With the anniversary drawing near, Alec needs a distraction.
As a lowly member of the Primrose Hill pack, Mark Appleton isn’t used to having his alpha’s attention. Lately he’s had more than his fair share, and not for the right reasons. Despite growing suspicions that all is not well, Mark tries hard to do better, but constant criticism leaves him desperate for a stress outlet.
Sex is a good way for shifters to let off steam, and while their packs attack each other with accusations and lies, Alec and Mark work out their frustrations in bed. Pillow talk and shared secrets lead to a closeness neither was expecting, but when pack relations reach an all-time low, any future for them seems out of the question.
If they want to be together, they’ll have to go against their alphas’ wishes—except Alec won’t and Mark can’t.

I have to say that I have lived each book in this series so far but this one was not only the cake of the series but the ice cream too!!!! This was the most amazing read. This book had. Joy only the danger aspect but this book took it even farther by adding I. Certain elements that will leave the reader not only surprised but also shocked. I have to say that this is the first shifter book that I have read that has taken on this plot that Annabelle took in and I have to say that it came away beautifully.
Just as he previous books, this book had the previous characters in it and had th same enemies as the previous ines did, namely P packs Alpha Steven Newell. Newell is not only a enemy of Regent Park but in the light of day he is also the greatest enemy of his own pack. Mark and Will found this out first hand in this book when Newell not only placed them on danger in the previous book but also placed them in greater danger in this book because Newell is now using them as collateral damage.
Mark knows that hooking up with a Regent Park pack member is not the smartest thing in the world but he cannot help the pull to Alec. Alec also knows that with both packs being investigated that continually having sex with Mark is just crazy but he also knows that the more they are around one another he more he mating bond is pulling on both men to claim the other.
The biggest difference in these two packs is Alec’s alpha Cam supports Alec whereas Mark’s alpha is using it against Mark to control him along with and among other people that Mark knows and loves.
When the time comes to choose between either their packs or being together, will these two men be able to figure out how to make things work between them or will it be too much?
This was such an exciting read. I could not believe some of the twist and turns that this book took. It is definitely a book that will keep you on your toes and wondering what will happen next. I cannot wait for the next book to come out and too see what Annabelle will come out with next.
