Nikolas Hadden is the master of his universe. He’s the leader of one of the most powerful Covens in the Eastern United States and he owns the premier club in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Imperial Club is where one needs to be seen if they want to be taken seriously. Pittsburgh is a city of class distinction, entrance to the Imperial is the line between the haves and the have-nots. His position may seem assured but there are dark forces in Pittsburgh that would love nothing more than to take even a slice of the power that Nik has amassed for himself. In the midst of this power play, the last thing Nik expects is to find is his beloved leaning against a pillar in a hand-me-down suit. Nik is transfixed by the beauty of Walker Hall and makes it his mission to win the man’s heart forever. But Pittsburgh is a hard city and nothing comes easy, not business and certainly not love.

Walker Hall is a twenty-one-year-old auto mechanic from the wrong side of the tracks. He doesn’t have delusions of grandeur. He just wants a job he loves and a comfortable place to call home. When his best friend Stanley secures tickets to the biggest party of the year at The Imperial Club, Walker immediately feels out of his element. This isn’t his crowd and they are going to know it the minute they see him. Walker is floored by the raven-haired stud who swoops into his life and leads him on a night of passion and decadence. What Walker doesn’t understand is that Nik has designs going far beyond tonight and that he has just stepped into a zero-sum world of vampires, love, and danger. Will Walker accept the role destiny has chosen for him?

Pittsburgh is a hard city of hard choices.

This was a good quick read. I love the whole aspect of vampires falling in love with a human.

Walker has never heard of a beloved much less knows about the existence of vampires. So to meet the infamous Nik, and not know who or how important he is, it is a breath of fresh air for Nik.

Nik loves the fact that after all these years that he has finally met the man that he is meant to spend the rest of his life with, his beloved Walker. The only issue is Walker has no clue what a beloved is.

Walker is attracted immensely to Nik from the moment he laid eyes on him but when he finds out exactly who Nik is, Walker begins to think that it is some kind of twisted game to Nik and his friends since they are not from the same class of people.

Nik realizes the moment that Walker becomes tense and also he realizes that it is because his friend told him who Nik is.

If Nik is not careful and handles Walker with kid gloves, he may lose his beloved before anything can begin.

Though Walker knows it must be a one off with Nik, Walker is not going to pass up the chance to be with him. The only problem is with not enough communication Nik may now lose his beloved shortly after claiming him. And to top it off Nik has some trouble burning on the home front and if he does not watch it, things could get out of control.

This was a good read. I enjoyed it and I look forward to more books in this series in the future. Maybe the next book will be about Josef or Stanley.

Advanced Review Copy

Galley copy of Meant To Be: Pittsburgh Vampires Volume 1) provided by Superiorland Publishing in exchange of an honest review.

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.

  • As a resident of Pittsburgh, I like to see stories set here. It’s not exactly a common setting! Plus I love reading about vampires of all types, from horror to PNR, so I definitely want to check this out. Thanks for your review!
