The Foxes are a fractured mess, but their latest disaster might be the miracle they’ve always needed to come together as a team. The one person standing in their way is Andrew, and the only one who can break through his personal barriers is Neil.
Except Andrew doesn’t give up anything for free and Neil is terrible at trusting anyone but himself. The two don’t have much time to come to terms with their situation before outside forces start tearing them apart. Riko is intent on destroying Neil’s fragile new life, and the Foxes have just become collateral damage.
Neil’s days are numbered, but he’s learning the hard way to go down fighting for what he believes in, and Neil believes in Andrew even if Andrew won’t believe in himself.
I never ever expected to love this series as much as I do. But….. these books are AWESOME!!
Neil is still at Palmetto State University, playing Exy with his team of outcasts. We learn a lot more about Neil’s background and Kevin and Andrew learn some of his secrets.
The Raven’s team is still their enemy and Riko does everything to destroy Neil and Kevin. I wanted to stab Riko, over and over again. He is so evil. The things he did to Kevin, Andrew and Neil…..
It was just brutal.
Neil accepts once he admits he cannot live without playing exy. But once he gets to the college and he meets the other guys, things are weird. The group dynamics are quite the puzzle, from the talented, but very angry Kevin, to the psychotic, heavily medicated Andrew.
I really love how dark everything feels. But I’m also glad that Neil finally allows himself to have friends, even though he doesn’t know what to do with that. And the thing at the end…. what he did for Andrew… My heart broke..
These books are a violent, psychotic mess and I loved every second of it.
