Love is a high-stakes game.

A century and a half ago, Ante Novak died on a Croatian battlefield—and rose three days later as a vampire. Now he haunts Las Vegas, stealing blood and money from drunken gamblers and staying on the fringe of the powerful vampire organization known as the Shadows. His existence feels empty and meaningless until he meets beautiful Peter Gehrardi, who can influence others with his thoughts.

An attraction flares instantly, bringing a semblance of life to Ante’s dead heart. But the Shadows want Peter too, and they’re willing to kill to get him. As Ante and Peter flee, they learn more about themselves and each other, and they discover that the world is a stranger place than either of them imagined. With enemies at their heels and old mistakes coming back to exact a price, how can Ante and Peter find sanctuary?

This was surprisingly a fantastic read. I was nicely surprised at just how much I really enjoyed this book. There is the element of danger, lust, love, and many different kinds of paranormals.

Ante is a vampire that has lived for a very long time. He is not the type of vampire that cares about power or even wealth. He does not enjoy killing humans and he is definitely what one would consider a loner. He only eats enough to stay alive and he only takes enough money in order to have a warm bed and a shower. When he does feed he only does so with men because he can make them think that in their drunken state that they have had sex and will not remember the fact that he has bitten them.

The Shadow is a larger organization of vampires thy is all about power and control, not to mention wealth. They have tried numerous times to convince Ante to join them but he is unwilling to do so.

When Ante sees a man that intrigues him because of his abilities that Ante has never seen before, Ante knows he has to meet him. From the moment that Ante and Peter meet both men knew there was something different about the other but they did not know what until the first time they had sex. Each man thought this would be the last time seeing one another but neither could get the other off their mind and then The Shadow enlightens Ante on who Peter is.

Peter refuses to join The Shadow but The Shadow is unwilling to let him walk away because they want his abilities. Ante has decided he has finally found his purpose in what he is starting to build with Peter and Peter feels the same about Ante. Together these two will fight to try and keep each other alive. The question is can they?

This book is full of all kinds of emotions and danger going on. It is an exciting read that will not leave the reader disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and believe others will also.

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time. I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books. Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.
