The capture of an arms dealer’s spoiled lover should’ve been a win for the humans struggling to survive their harsh lives in the slums. Powerless and outnumbered, it seems like only a matter of time before Romulus betrays the Butcher. But when Kieran realizes their prisoner is none other than his stepbrother, he has to face the harsh truths he’s been avoiding for too long. Torn between loyalty for his new family of humans and the witch he has more than brotherly feelings for, Kieran must make a decision that could leave him with nothing.

Though Spoiled is set in The Fate of the Fallen / Status Quo world, this is a standalone work. These characters do not appear in the FotF/SQ books, and there are no spoilers for the series.

I loved the constant promise of betray that was implicit in every actions this characters had. I loved Kieran and Romulus although I struggle a little but with their chemistry. I ended up loving them as a couple even with some issues I had about it.

The dystopian world the book is settle in, is personal favorite having read the series that give life to it. I always feel fascinated by any story that bring my mind back to it. This one is less dark than the series, a bit of a turn down for me, but I still have a great time knowing Romulus and Kieran. It is also sweeter and there’s less angst. It was a sweet romance under a very difficult situation.

I love to read M/M books. I’ve only start in 2015 so I’m still doing a lot of catching up with some series and getting to know some authors. I love to read stories with dark themes, a lot of angst and complex characters. I work in mental health and I’ve always been interested on how mental illness is portray in books, so I would probably read any book with that subject.

Here are some of my favorite books

Strain Violence Vegets Arctic Absolution Dark Soul The dreams you made in the Dirt
Fog Bought Caged Jaye Evenfall The Invasion of Tork
