Devon Murphy has never believed that there were fairies at the bottom of the garden, but when he’s in an accident on his way to his grandmother’s house and comes face to face with the biggest, baddest wolf he’s ever seen, he’s forced to reconsider.
When his grandmother asks him to look into a string of suspicious accidents, he finds a much bigger mystery to unravel. From his childhood best friend to the too-attractive Deputy Wade Hunter, everyone in Rowan Harbor seems to have something to hide. Devon has to get to the bottom of it all before the accidents turn deadly.
This is the first book in The Rowan Harbor Cycle and I have to be completely honest in saying that I loved this book and cannot wait for the next book to come out. Sam Burns did such an incredible job on this book.
This is one of those books that within the first few pages of reading it I knew I was going to love it and boy was I not wrong. The further I got into this read the more the mystery of what is going on in the small town of Rowan Harbor came to light.
Devon has not back to the town that he was born in since he was young. But when his grandmother called him and said to come, he jumped into the car and went. This is the start of it all. Devon has not made it completely into town when all of the weird stuff starts to happen but Devon shakes it all off as to being in a car accident and adrenaline.
But that is not it at all. Devon will soon figure that out and the more he starts to look into the strange ways of the town that is at least according to the townsfolk, Devons home, the more Devon begins to realize there is something very different about the people that live there. Especially when everyone starts saying that Devon and Wade are meant to be together, that it is destined.
Wade is a different type of person that is for sure from the person Devon is. Wade is way more serious and at least in front of Devon, he never smiles. So for everyone to believe they are meant to be together has thrown Devon.
Once the secrets of the town and secrets about where Devon comes from comes to light, Devon is going to have some hard choices to make. The question that mainly burns is does he stay or does he go? Does he give Wade a chance or is it all just some silly coincidence?
This really was a good read. Sam Burns really made the mystery of what was going on the main part of the story but it truly worked for this book. It sucks you in and does not let you go until the last line of the book. I truly believe others will enjoy this book as much as I did. Can’t wait until the next book. Betting it is going to be another winner like this one was.
