Devon Murphy has never believed that there were fairies at the bottom of the garden, but when he’s in an accident on his way to his grandmother’s house and comes face to face with the biggest, baddest wolf he’s ever seen, he’s forced to reconsider.
When his grandmother asks him to look into a string of suspicious accidents, he finds a much bigger mystery to unravel. From his childhood best friend to the too-attractive Deputy Wade Hunter, everyone in Rowan Harbor seems to have something to hide. Devon has to get to the bottom of it all before the accidents turn deadly.
Blackbird in the Reeds is the first book in the Rowan Harbor Cycle Series and is a phenomenal start to the series. I loved all the characters. Devon and Wade and their story gives a wonderful start to this series.
I loved the premise of the story and the world author has built. The whole place and the characters and the suspense that is slowly revealed all makes the story a truly phenomenal read. I liked Devon and Wade and the way author built their relationship too. I liked that the author made them both interact and they made genuine efforts to get to know each other. Running parallel is how the author made Devon grow as a character and made him realize his true self. I really liked the way the author structured the story and gave a slow reveal to what is actually happening. I also loved the secondary characters and the paranormal creatures and how all the elements mixed together.
Blackbird in the Reeds is a truly wonderful start to a new series and I am completely enamored. I cannot wait to read the next book. Highly Recommended.
