V.L. Locey Guest Post: Coach’s Challenge

Planning? Who me? I don’t need no stinking planning.

Hello! I’m V.L. Locey and I’m just tickled pink to be here today!

Oh, to be a planner of things such as books. I sure wish I could sit down and plot out every chapter paragraph by paragraph. There would be no surprises, no shocking revelations from my characters, no stopping and looking around befuddled because the story is now so far off the beaten path I’ll need a bloodhound to help me track down the original plot thread. Yep, it would be grand to be a plotter. But, alas, I am not.

I’m a pantser, or as a friend of mine prefers to call it, an organic writer. I tend to have an idea and a character bio in hand when I start writing. That’s pretty much it. I do need to know the basics of my leading men such as height, weight, hair and eye color, basic personality, and what they do for a living. Everything else is generally up for grabs.

My characters tend to reveal themselves to me bit by bit as I write. Which is why I occasionally have HUGE shocks as the story progresses. It’s just something I’ve learned to live with as I have tried plotting and story skeletons as so many books tell authors they must do. Every time I plot out a book, it kills the desire to write that story because I’ve already written it, or most of it. Which is why if I stop mid-story on a book I rarely can go back and finish it. Guess my wonky brain just loves taking me along on those wild rides through fiction world!

Thanks for dropping by!

Skate hard and love deeply,
V.L.

Victor Kalinski and his husband, Dan Arou, are living the dream. Each man is enjoying professional success as well as personal bliss. Who knew life in the suburbs with a spouse and a child could be so darn satisfying? Not Vic. K, that’s for sure.

The happy times are about to turn rough, though. The Cougars have picked up a new player, Sander March, a brash young center whose sass, skill, and attitude can rival Victor’s. When it’s revealed that this new player and Dan have history, tensions begin to rise between the newlyweds. As Victor and Dan work on those issues, the one person Victor never thought he would meet arrives in the small New York hamlet and proceeds to flip everything in Vic’s life upside down.

Can Victor and Dan’s marriage withstand what life is about to drop on it, or will the challenges be too much for them to handle?

I love a man in uniform! Cops, Firefighters, Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, they are my favorite! I also love some angst in a good story and friends-to-lovers. M/M erotica alone doesn’t do it for me. It’s gotta have a story and some conflict. BDSM when I’m in that mood and threesomes with 3 men or 2 men and 1 woman, again when the mood strikes. Hetero? Sure, if it’s really good. HEA ONLY!
