In the New Adult series that began with Go Your Own Way and With or Without You, Will Osbourne and Lennox McAvoy must now face the challenges of a long distance relationship that will determine their future. Despite the fulfillment of his childhood dream, Will is suffocating in too-loud, too-dirty, too-busy New York City. Lennox, who has always relied on Will for guidance, is thriving in Boston without him. As Lennox embraces his promising new life and rediscovers old family, Will searches for a future of his own that won’t tear them apart.

Will woke with a start as someone kneed him in the stomach. He rolled away from Lennox’s flailing and sat up.
“Lennox, wake up.” Lennox continued to twist around; his body jerked as if he was trying to free himself from something. Will shook him, but it made no difference. His face was contorted in fear, anguish. Sweat covered Lennox’s face and neck.
“Lennox… Lennox! Wake up!” He grabbed Lennox’s arm and Lennox swung at him. Will jerked backward; Lennox’s knuckles landed on his chest.
“Ouch! Lennox, hey, it’s me. It’s Will!”
Lennox blinked and sat up. Will leaned away, half out of bed, rubbing his chest where Lennox had punched him.
“Yeah, it’s me. You were having a nightmare. Are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Lennox said, his voice croaking. “It’s nothing.”
“Didn’t sound like nothing. What’s going on? You’re crying.”
Lennox wiped his eyes and shook his head. “Just sweating.”
“From your eyes?”
Will got out of bed and turned the lights on. He stood by the bed watching Lennox carefully—every tremble, every sniffle. Lennox refused to make eye contact. Will sat down beside him again. He suspected what this was about, the same missing history of Lennox’s past that he’d never really explained; the same nightmares from January.
