Vern Roberts couldn’t wait to turn eighteen and get the hell out of Dogpatch, California. But city living is expensive, and he’s damned desperate when Dex from Johnnies spots him bussing tables.

As “Bobby,” he’s a natural at gay porn. Soon he’s surrounded by hot guys and sex for the taking, but it’s not just his girlfriend back in Dogpatch—or her blackmailing brother—that keeps him from taking it. It’s the sweet guy who held the lights for his first solo scene, who showed him decency, kindness, and a smile.

Reg Williams likes to think he’s too stupid to realize what a shitty hand life dealt him, but Bobby knows better. What Reg lacks in family, opportunity, education, and money, he makes up for in heart. One fumbling step at a time, they connect, not just in their hearts but in their bodies, where sex that’s not on camera, casual, or meaningless, becomes the most important thing in the world.

But Reg is hampered by an inescapable family burden, and he and Bobby will never fly unless he can find a way to manage it. Can he break the painful link to his unrealized childhood and grow into the love Bobby wants to give?

So, let me start by saying that this was the first book I have read in this series and it was AWESOME! Second thing I would like to say is this should NOT be read as a standalone. I won’t lie, it was a bit rough in the beginning, trying to understand what all was happening in this book. Did that deter me…NO. Did I have to read a bit slower and look at past blurbs…YES. Did that get me to go back and read the other books in the series…YES (Only book four left). Bottom line: If you have read the series, get this it’s awesome! If you have not read the series, not only buy this book but the rest of the books in the series because again it is AWESOME.

Seriously though, my heart just went out to Reg/Digger. IMO Amy Lane broke me with him. Yes, even Chase/Chance story did not hold a candle to Reg. Everything that he has done, does and continued to do for his sister Veronica; just astounded me. Regardless of his intellect; the love, admiration and loyalty he has for her speaks volumes. Just think…against all the odds, Reg found a way to take care of his mentally ill sister since he was 16 years old. Now, that is saying something.

Then there is Vern/Bobby. Just wanting to find a way out of his small town and wanting the same for his mother. Oh, and we cannot forget his big dick heart 🙂 Seriously, he does have a BIG heart. Like miles and miles of heart! So, Bobby and his organ have an epiphany and finally realize what/who he truly wants; which of course is Reg. Watching their “dance”, is surprisingly sweet. Almost like there is an innocence to them regardless of their environment.

In the end, Amy Lane does a wonderful job wrapping everything up for everyone involved, while still keeping it real. As a side note, I do believe that Bobby is the only character thus far to still keep his job in porn. I actually liked this, and it works for this couple.

I am really hoping that there might be a book for Lance and/or Trey. Because I am sure I am not the only one that doesn’t want this series to end!

I love reading books about boys who love other boys <3. Sometimes there is a HEA or HFN, but sometimes it just is. Yes, I love all outcomes even it is not what I hoped for. We all need a good cry from time to time. As you can probably can tell, I love cliffhangers as well. Yeah, I am one of those people :) I read a variety of genres, whether it is dark/taboo, historical, shifters, GFY, SciFi, mysteries/thrillers; I love it all.
