A Tom and Stanley Mystery
Nothing bad is supposed to happen in Palm Springs.
At least that’s what San Francisco private detective Tom Danzel and his partner Stanley Korski believe. But when their friend Chris finds a dead body in his hotel room bed, Tom and Stanley drive out to help the local police investigate.
What they discover is a rather nasty green snake and an elegant hotel that offers delicacies not usually found on a room service menu. As the body count increases, the two detectives are going to have to rely on their skills and each other if they’re going to survive this very deadly kind of love.
Continues the Deadly Mystery Series published with MLR Press.
I will be honest in saying that at first I was not enjoying this book. Or at least that was for the first couple of pages anyway and then after that something caught my attention and suddenly I was sucked into this mystery. Turns out that the excitement of this book ramped up tremendously throughout the read and I was hooked. I have not read the previous books in this series but that was not necessary either. I was not lost as to what was going on so I believe that it could be said that this book can be read as a stand-alone.
Tom and Stanley are partners in more ways than one. They used to be on the police force together and now they own a private detective agency. So when their friend, Chris, calls from Palm Springs in need of their help they immediately go to his rescue.
Chris is staying at an exclusive hotel in Palm Springs and after returning from a night on the town, he finds a man dead in his bed. So of course he is going to call Stanley and Tom. What looks like a simple death by a snake bite turns into so much more….murder. As it is, this is not the last murder that Tom and Stanley are going to find in Palm Springs either.
What is really going on behind the dead bodies that seem to keep turning up left and right? Who is behind it and why? Can Tom and Stanley figure out what is going on before someone else is murdered or will one or both be next?
This was really a good read and I am glad that I read it. I will definitely read the next when it comes out. I am now a believer in these two men and look forward to whatever is going to come next for them.
