Dexter is a horse trainer, a bachelor, and Jamal’s favorite client. Their regular Tuesday sessions have been going on for years and things are great, so when Dexter has to go out of town to show his friend’s Gypsy Vanner, he invites Jamal along for the weekend as his boyfriend.

This is a re-release.

Dexter has settled into comfortable routine: he has his house, the job he loves, his favorite and and his less behaved clients, but everything has its place in his life. He doesn’t need love or relationship, being perfectly happy with the arrangement he has with an escort Jamal. It’s arrangement of long standing and Dexter thinks nothing of inviting the man to spend weekend with him.

The first chapters exudes calmness the hero feels. Dexter is happy with his life and feels nothing amiss.
I was actually hoping for a nice friends with benefits story so Jamal being an escort threw me off a bit. But the story is engaging so I kept reading. There is delicious tension as men hover on the precipice between what they have and something more.

They both hesitate before taking a step toward more intimate relationship, since they are coming from different places in life. But they click together and it pushes the boundaries of escort and paying client relationship morphing easily into friendship. The potential is obvious from the beginning, and the book ends on a high note. It’s a happy story without angst and complications.
