High school best friends Toby Billings and Jim Maverick went their separate ways after graduation. Five years later, they meet by chance. Toby needs a ride, and Jim offers to give him one.

During a journey across several states, with stops at roadside diners, state parks, and cheap motels, small talk turns to serious discussions of lives that didn’t turn out the way either of them dreamed. Their choices are catching up to them, and neither is on an innocent summer vacation. Renewing their friendship will mean painful admissions and secrets coming to light. Yet they discover they have more in common now than they ever guessed, and going their separate ways at the trip’s end won’t be easy.

After aimlessly wandering the country, all roads lead back home. But first they must decide what home means.

This is a book about two men that were once best friends in high school only to have lost touch with one another. Then out of the blue they run into one another when both seem to be running from their own personal demons. This was a good read about reconnecting and maybe, just maybe being able to put demons to rest and finding a new way in life…together.

From the moment that Toby is introduced into this book you know that he is running from something. Something has got him either scared, or hurt, or just flat out angry. He is in the process of trying to find a bus out of town when he unexpectedly bumps into his old child hood best friend, Jimmy.

It has been five years since Jimmy and Toby graduated high school and went their separate ways. What Jimmy did not know is that they were not that far from one another. Both were in Boston but Toby opted to keep that information to himself. See Toby had a secret that he never told his best friend. He is gay and has always known that he was.

What Toby did not know was Jimmy has his own secret, he is gay as well. When they run into one another again, Jimmy will not take no for answer when it comes to traveling together. Jimmy is determined to rekindle their friendship.

Along the way something changes between them and so much more blossoms. But once their pasts catch up to them, can they get past what is about to become a huge barrier that is standing in their way?

This was a good read. Both Toby and Jimmy have things in their past that will affect not only their present but possibly their future as well. They have to figure out what is the best decision for themselves on what is the best course of action. It is not easy decisions for either of them. The only thing that I did not like was this book ended abruptly and I feel like in the end, one of the major issues was not addressed as well as it could have been. I felt like it was glossed over rather quickly. Other then that, this was a great read.

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.

Please comment! We'd love to hear from you.
