Letting love pass them by would be a crime.
Former forensic accountant Cameron has lost nearly everyone he’s ever loved, and now his vintage clothing shop has been broken into and trashed. When town police chief Will Carson asks an out-of-town cop friend of his for help, Cam takes one look at the dark-haired, blue-eyed detective and knows he’s in real trouble—and it has nothing to do with vandalism or murder.
Pete Minchelli is on leave from his job in Philadelphia due to a gunshot wound, but he figures he can help an academy buddy with some light police work. Plus, he’ll have a chance to experience small-town life. He’s tired of the big city and all its corruption. But he quickly discovers that not all the bad stuff happens in cities. What he doesn’t expect to find is death, treachery—or love.
What an incredible mystery/romance. This is one of those books that made me question everyone as a suspect. I was not able to figure out who the bad guy was until it came time to reveal it. What made this an even better read was the bad guy getting to have a point of view as well as the two main characters.
Cameron has suffered more heartache and pain then any one person should have to bear. He lost his father, then his mother, and finally his boyfriend on the day of his mother’s wake. What more will Cameron have to face and why is he is having to suffer so much? Well the questions will start to come more and more as an investigation into the break in of his shop gets under way.
Pete is in town and decides to help his friend and fellow cop, Will, try to figure out who broke into Cameron’s shop. There is more going on then just a random break in and the closer they get figuring out who is behind it all the more dangerous things get.
With each new answer, the more questions there are. The only plus is Pete and Cameron are steadily getting closer to each other. The bad thing about that is someone is not happy about that.
Can they figure out who is behind everything before someone gets hurt or worse?
This was such a great read. I could not put this book down. I truly enjoyed this read. It is truly an incredible mystery. I could not figure out who was behind everything until the very end. That makes for an amazing book.
