After Kai Olsen’s “perfect lover” dies in a cycling accident, Kai takes a part-time job teaching at a community college to fill his empty evenings. When Kai’s student, Adrian Knox, shows an interest in Kai, their lives quickly change. Adrian is dominated by his controlling mother, Kai can’t stop obsessing over his lost lover, and school policy says faculty members can’t date students.

Does love between Kai and Adrian stand a chance?

This was a good short story. It is sad in some ways with the loss of Kai’s husband and the extremely controlling ways of Adrian’s mom.

Kai is at a loss as to what to do with his life and his time since he lost his husband. He spends much of his time at work as a lawyer or at home by himself. He knows he needs to change something about his life so when the opportunity to teach a class at the university comes available, he takes it.

This is where he meets an incredible young man named Adrian. Adrian knows all too well about loss because he has had his fair share of it. He lost his father and his arm but he has not lost himself.

Kai finds his attraction to Adrian to be powerful and also unexpected. Kai also knows that if anyone was to find out about the two of them then he would no longer be able to teach. This does not stop the two from getting in a relationship though.

What can and does come between them is Kai is not able to get over the death of his husband and Adrian still has the wrath of his mother to deal with.

Can these two work through their issues or is their relationship doomed from the start?

This was a great read about a great loss. It is also a read about learning to live again and moving on from the past. I enjoyed this short story. It was a quick read but a good one. I look forward to more by Martin Delacroix in the future.

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.
