Take a journey into the past and meet the men who laughed, lived, and loved in a bygone era. This collection includes three short but sweet tales of infatuation, adventure, humor, and even a dash of the paranormal.

When Love Walked In

Private investigator Bruce Shannon’s cases of missing persons and infidelity don’t inspire warm feelings around Valentine’s Day. Luckily Bruce is quite happy with only his cat for companionship—until handsome Jace Scarret wanders off the street and into Bruce’s life.

In His Corner

Former world heavyweight boxing champion Jessie “the Demon” Dalton needs a cornerman, and Eli jumps at the chance, hoping for answers about why Jessie broke his heart years ago. It soon becomes clear that Jessie needs Eli in his corner—and in his life. Now all Eli has to do is convince Jessie.

Believe Me, Beloved

Robert Bradley dreams of singing on the radio, and when he attends the masked ball of handsome station owner Gabriel Chase, Robert has no idea his dream is about to take an unexpected paranormal turn.

This is not the typical book that I would relate to Charlie Cochet. Well not completely anyway. But regardless I still found this book to be very intriguing. Charlie Cochet is by far one of my favorite authors and when a book comes out by her, I have to have it because I know that it will be good.

This is a book that is a collection of three short stories. Each story is different than the last but no less in intriguing. Each story has a different theme than the last. One of the three stories was my most favorite and I would not have minded a full length book about it. Believe Me, Beloved is the last short story in this collection and me being a huge shifter fan (again thanks to Charlie and the Thirds series) was my favorite of the three.

Believe Me, Beloved is a story about a man who does not even know that shifters exist but is about to find out in a very crazy way of hide and seek. This story has excitement and intrigue to the fullest.

The first story in this series is When Love Walked In. This book is set back in the old days when being gay was not talked about and staying hidden was a must. Even still love wins out in the end. This is a book about a lonely private investigator and a man he finds literally on the landing of his steps. Sometimes love and fate have plans for each and every one of us and private investigator Bruce is about to find this out.

The second book in this collection is In His Corner. Again this book is set back in the time when it was not safe to be openly gay. But again when love happens, it is hard to walk away from…or is it? This is a book about a boxer and the love of his life that he walks away from. Can love win out in the end or is it too much to expect to be together when you have to constantly hide?

Charlie did a great job with these three stories. I really enjoyed this. It was nice how each book was like the rest in the way that they are all about a time when gay people could not be open and honest about their feelings but each story was so different than the last. I look forward to more books by Charlie in the future.

This was a great read. Like with most books that have more than one story in it I had my favorite. And anyone who know me knows that it was the shifter romance. Great read!!

  • I love Charlie’s historical work. Back when she first started there were some awesome stories. Don’t get me wrong, I love THIRDS, but the old stuff has a certain oompf to it!

Please comment! We'd love to hear from you.

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time. I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books. Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.
