Metropolitan Police detective Pete Tucker’s world comes crashing down when his wife sues for divorce and sole custody of their only son.
Desperate to forget his sorrows for a while, Pete seeks refuge in a Soho bar where he is approached by a sexy, funny, and clearly interested stranger. Photographer Liam Jackson is just the ticket for one oblivious night of perfect passion.
However, their attraction proves too intense for a one-night-stand. To his surprise, Pete finds that he’s game for something more – but his baggage soon gets in the way. Then Liam’s own dangerous secrets claw their way to the surface, and threaten to derail the budding romance.
Is their growing bond strong enough to weather the violent storms ahead?
Wow. Just wow. Could anything more happen to one or the other of these two men? Both of them went through pure hell only to have more come their way. It is as if these two men have nothing but bad luck coming to them. But then again they met each other so maybe there is something good that will come of all this.
Pete’s bad day goes from bad to worse when he receives information that his soon to be ex wife is going to sue for sole custody. Pete was supposed to be getting his son Noah the day he found out and now with this happening, it is not going to happen. So Pete decides instead of sitting around and wallowing in self pity, that he is going to go and get drunk instead. That is where he meets the young but really mature Liam.
Liam has had a crap life as well. He is just good at hiding how bad things are for him. When he meets Pete he is excited about spending the night with this man. He is so excited that after their night together even though he does not hear from Liam, he calls him anyway.
Liam and Pete decide to meet up again but this time it is not without some drama that sends Liam scampering. But this does not stop these two men from turning to the other when an accident happens and then when danger comes straight to their doorsteps.
Can two men that have little in common to start with find a common ground and maybe something more?
This was a great read. It is not a very long book but it is action packed through it all. It is definitely a book I would recommend to others. Mel Gough definitely wrote a book in this book that was worth reading. I look forward to more of Mel’s work in the future.
