Blurb:

WITSEC victim Noah Bradford knows secrets that could get him killed, and staying hidden seems like a good plan. What he didn’t plan on is losing his heart to a man who is sworn to protect him.

Battle scarred US Marshal Robert “Mac” Mackenzie has a job to do, and guaranteeing the safety of Noah Bradford is at the top of that list. Mac will do whatever it takes to keep Noah safe, even if it means walking away.

Mac and Noah, brought together during extreme circumstances, have been separated by evil. It’s been six years, give or take, and Noah is coming for vengeance against the men who killed his mother. He’s on a collision course with Mac, who has no idea of the man Noah has become. Sparks fly and the heat sizzles when these two powerful men are reunited, but will they survive the passion the past created?

This was simply an incredible read. It is an action packed, twist inducing, suspenseful read. This book kept me riveted throughout the whole read and left me wanting the next book as soon as possible. I honestly did not want this book to end. I wanted more of these men. So needless to say, I was sad when it ended but happy this is only the first book in this series.

Trigger Warnings: graphic violence, child abuse, mention of rape, and graphic detail.

Noah is a young boy when he witnessed his step-father and another man murder his mother and then kidnap and abuse him. By the time Noah is in his teens he is still praying for a savior. Not only for himself but for the other children they have held captive as well. Noah is supposed to be being groomed to be the second in command behind his step-father. But this is not the life that Noah wants. Nor does he want to be anything like these men.

So when US Marshal’s finally are able to get enough information on the whereabouts of the head man in charge, they come in ready for not only a fight but also to rescue and hopefully have some turn state’s evidence or at least testify against the organization. When Mac comes across Noah, he knows he is still young and that he is need of rescuing and Mac makes the decision right then that he is going to get Noah out of there and into WITSEC so he can protect him.

Years later after Noah has been discharged of Mac’s care into the care of a woman named Claire is when Noah decides to join an elite group of men and woman the government will send into places where they need their help as a last result.

When Noah was in the care of Mac, he knew he had feelings for Mac. But he also knew Mac did not return them or if he did, he had his reasons for never acting on them. Noah was hurt when Mac transferred his care to someone else but now as time has gone by he understands it more. But he has not seen Mac in years.

Now that Noah is this close to capturing those responsible for his mother’s murder, he needs to get back in touch with Mac again. Especially since there is a mole in the Marshal’s office that is passing along information.

Maybe now Noah will get the chance to see if there is anything between Mac and himself. Or at least he hopes to find this out before the danger gets too close to either one or both of them.

This book was such an incredible read. I loved this book and all the action. I also like how Reese Knightley made this book stretch over a period of time instead of going with the flashback version. This book will definitely suck you in and leave you wanting more. I cannot wait for the next book.

Author

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.

Please comment! We'd love to hear from you.
