Colton Johnson has successfully buried the crazy attraction he feels for his younger stepbrother for so long, he can pretend he’s not attracted to Asher at all. Graduating and dealing with the daily chore that is his bipolar disorder are the only two things on his mind. Then Colton makes the impulsive decision to accept his stepmother’s invitation to visit. What Colton doesn’t know is that Asher has been making plans.

With boundless enthusiasm, good looks, and endless amounts of persistence Asher Miller usually gets what he wants. The one plan that hasn’t worked out for him is falling in love. He never thought his off limits, damaged, hot-as-sin stepbrother would be the one to catch his heart. For years Asher has squashed down his forbidden desire but now he’s eighteen, he’s following Colton’s footsteps to college…and all bets are off. It’s time to take the steps that will seduce Colton into love.

This was a nice story about two stepbrothers falling in love. The first kiss came out of nowhere, but after that first part I actually got into it and started to enjoy it more.

Asher and Colton are stepbrothers. Were stepbrothers actually since their parents are now divorced.

Colton has felt attracted to Asher for years, but never acted on it for a lot of reasons. One is that they were brothers. Not real brothers by blood, but he has always felt people wouldn’t understand that difference. And Colton never wanted to ruin his friendship with Asher. So he will just stay the ‘big brother’ to Asher.

Now that Asher turned 18, Asher feels it is finally time to let Colton know how he feels. Asher knows Colton feels something for him, but he also knows Colton will never act on it by himself. And that’s why Asher decides to just jump in and kiss Colton.

Colton is shocked when Asher kisses him, and doesn’t know what to do with it. He wants Asher, but he also knows he is not an easy person to live with his bipolar disorder. So he feels he should dissuade Asher now before they actually get involved….

I actually liked this. I wasn’t too sure when I started this since there wasn’t a lot of build-up before the first kiss happened. But after the first part I found myself getting more and more into it.

I love characters with some sort of mental ‘issue’ and Colton’s bipolar disorder spiced things up a bit for me. I loved how persistent Asher was in his pursuit of Colton. How he didn’t let Colton’s fears stop him.

I also really liked that Asher’s mom was pretty okay with it and that there was no extra angst from that corner. Now, Colton’s father was another matter, but he was a bad father, period.

Overall a nice romance between two (former) stepbrothers.
