A THIRDS Universe Novel

Austen Payne, THIRDS Squadron Specialist Agent (SSA) for Destructive Delta and TIN operative, has seen the worst the world has to offer, faced lethal killers, and helped bring down dangerous organizations. But nothing terrifies him more than falling in love. After years of undercover work, Austen is a master at defending himself and protecting his heart… until he meets Osmond Zachary.

THIRDS Defense Agent Osmond Zachary has a huge, doting family, yet something is missing in his life. After meeting grumpy, foul-mouthed, jittery cheetah Therian Austen Payne, Zach knows exactly what that something—or someone—is. Unfortunately Austen seems determined to avoid Zach at all costs.

When Zach foils an assassination attempt, he ends up in the killer’s crosshairs, and Austen is Zach’s best chance at staying alive. Zach hopes the crisis will bring them closer, but Austen has every intention of walking away as soon as the danger is over.

Happily ever after isn’t for guys like Austen, but Zach is determined to show him it can be…

Charlie Cochet strikes again. And in the very best way possible. This book has been a long time in the making in my opinion. I have followed the “THIRDS” books since book one and each book is just as good as the last. This book in my opinion, is an opening to what is to come with Sloan, Dex, Austen, Zach, and the rest of the gang. Charlie has a way of making sure each book leads up to something better to come and I believe that is exactly what she did here.

Austen has always avoided getting close to anyone. With the exception of Sloan, Brayden, Sparks, and by default Dex, Austen has avoided any and all connections to anyone. He closed his heart and mind to love because no one could ever love him. After meeting Zach years ago, Austen has really had to fight to keep those doors closed because Zach keeps trying to slip in and Austen cannot let that happen.

Zach is a THIRDS agent and a bear Therian. He is good at his job and cares about people, including his huge family. Zach and Austen have known one another for three years now and though Austen pushes him away, he knows Austen is the one for him. Now if Austen would accept that then they would be good.

When Zach is injured in the line of duty, Austen drops everything to check on him. It is a good thing too because hired hit men show up to kill Zach while he is laying in the hospital bed. Austen takes it upon himself to not only take out the hit men but to take on Zach’s very large family and insist on protecting him until they find out who is after Zach and and why. This is all well and good but Zach’s family have plans of their own that Austen will not be to thrilled about.

Once everyone agrees to the best plan, Austen and his family will do what is best to protect Zach. Problem is, how will Austen be able to keep protecting himself and his heart in the process? Will Zach finally be able to penetrate the walls Austen has built up?

Charlie always amazes me with her books. This is one I have waited a long time to read because I knew Austen would eventually get his own book and boy does he ever! I am so glad this series will continue. This is one of my favorite series of all time. I cannot wait till the next book or the continuation of this series really kicks off. I have no doubt it will be amazing!!!

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time. I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books. Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.
