Darcy’s newest assignment is to play the role of boyfriend to a wealthy socialite, but never expected the intense attraction to his date’s brother. Falling for Adrian is dangerous and certainly not part of the plan.
Adrian has been as unlucky in love as his sister, but he doesn’t approve of hiring a boyfriend, whatever the reason. Until he meets Darcy. Then he comes to realize that love can happen in the most unexpected of ways.
One week. That is all the two men needed to fall in lust, but will they have a lifetime to fall in love?
Both men meet when Adrian’s sister, Abby, wants to hire Darcy because she’s afraid of loosing the funding for her research and needs a boyfriend for a wedding date. There’s an attraction from the start between the two men and both feels it growing whenever they’re near each other but acting on it will risk everything if anyone discovers them. Abby hired Darcy as a date for the wedding to placate her cousin Charlotte as she’s jealous over Abby’s and Charlotte’s husband’s past. Charlotte’s husband Graham is also the one funding Abby’s research. There’s a lot at stake and imperative that Darcy and Adrian hide their feelings for each other.
Overall this was a nice, easy read, the characters good enough and I especially liked reading how Darcy and Adrian met and the way Darcy took his work seriously, not wanting to give way for temptation, was great. Here, it wasn’t just talk.I might actually have gotten a little more invested in the side pairing of Charlotte and Graham than the main couple themselves though. Maybe because it felt they had more to loose than Darcy and Adrian. It was a nice read all the same, sometimes this is just what is needed.
It’s written in third person and the style’s good. I would say the heat’s barely three flames, which is okay for me, however I felt the sexy time could have had a little more heat between the two.
