Assistant US attorney Dominic Price is staring down the barrel of his father’s debts. The bull’s-eye on his back makes him a threat to everyone he cares about, so when his lover wants to go public with their relationship, he bolts. Not because he isn’t in love—he can’t stomach the thought of putting Cam in danger.

Kidnap and rescue expert Cameron Byrne is determined to figure out what trouble Nic is running from, but devastating news from home brings him back to Boston and to the cold case that has haunted his family for two decades. Shoving aside his pride, he calls Nic for help.

Together they search for answers, navigating the minefield of Cam’s past. But when they get too close to the truth, Cam must use every skill in his arsenal to save the man he loves…before it’s too late.

The previous series from this author had a lot of buzz, so when I had the chance to read Craft Brew, which is second book in new series, I thought why not? Let’s see what it is about. I didn’t regret it.

It’s a fast paced story moving seamlessly from one event to the next one without pausing for breath. Nic and Cam are struggling to stay together amid threats and resurgence of ghosts of the pasts. I would definitely recommend reading the previous book. I had no trouble connecting with the characters but I didn’t get the full picture of everything that was happening. It’s exciting, gripping story with plotlines spinning together keeping both its heroes and the reader on their toes. Both
Nic and Cam are very human which makes them so likeable as characters. They both bear scars from the past and trying to do better the second time around. It resonates sharply in each move they make as emotional background adds depth to their portrayal.

Cam is trying to investigate an even that influenced his life in big way: the disappearance of his sister decades ago. He is desperate for leads and grasping for straws. Nic, while burdened with his own problems, is trying to help. The plot is solid with some relationship angst thrown in. The story was nerve-wracking and kept me glued to the screen. It has very sweet happy end. Definitely recommending this one!
