When cop-turned-vampire-hunter Vance is sent to eliminate a bloodsucker from the Louisiana swamps, he figures it’s just another day at the office.
But he has no idea what he’s getting into.
Clay is no ordinary vampire, and the spark he lights in battle-scarred Vance is anything but average. Clay should be the enemy, but Vance is powerless to fight something that feels so right… and so damn good. In Clay’s expert hands, Vance might realize he’s misjudged vampires and that donating a little blood can be sexy as hell.
Clay might even ride to the rescue and save his new love when Vance’s mission goes south and Vance becomes the hunted instead of the hunter. Along with his human familiar, a crazy Cajun named Remy, and the enigmatic older vampire Gryphon, Clay must get to Vance before it’s too late. Then they can find the man who betrayed Vance and take their revenge.
But faced with lies and motives darker than they ever imagined, they’ll have to wade through blood and fight their way to a happily ever after….
This certainly had a little surprise in store for me. I guess a warning for multiple partners in bed is in order for those who might not like it, but the endgame is still m/m. For vampires in this book, promiscuity is in their nature.
There were a lot of repetitive cussing especially in the beginning which disturbed the flow of the story for me as it felt unnecessary. When it’s third peron narrative then the cussing should be left for the actual talking or thinking unless it’s in first person of course.
The chemistry between these two men is off the chart and quite fun to read. There’s a lot of sex in this book but somehow, for some reason it became part of the charm further in the story the way the author wrote it. Of course the plot has less space but in the end it still felt okay to me for some strange reason since I usually want more plot and less sex. I definitely liked all the biting. So don’t read this because you want vampires and realistic behavior. The world-build also weren’t all here but this book is more for fun and the hot sex with some added suspense to give it an edge, well in my opinion because I did enjoy it all the same.
