Jackson Lewis isn’t a typical werewolf. He isolates himself in a small town outside Spokane and dedicates himself to making his business—Lone Wolf Brewery—a success. If it leaves him little time for romance, he’s okay with that. His soul mate could be out there somewhere, but he isn’t actively looking.

So he’s in for quite the shock when he literally bumps into his soul mate—Leo Gallagher, an adorable, nerdy, vibrant music therapist who’s Jackson’s polar opposite.

But he’s human. And a man.

Jackson is straight—or at least he’s always assumed so. Though he can’t deny his attraction to Leo, it’s a lot for both of them to deal with.

While Jackson and Leo figure out what their future might hold, they face prejudice from both the human and werewolf communities—including a group of fanatics willing to kill to show humans and werewolves don’t belong together.

This is a shifter-human love story with a lot of anguish between the two main characters. It is also supposed to be a mystery with dangerous intents. I have to be honest when I say that I completely love shifter reads. They have become one of my top favorite reads where genres are concerned but I also have to be honest and say that this book was not one of my favorite reads. My reason for this is because one of the main characters and also the danger and mystery behind it all. I will explain more on both later on in this review.

Jackson is a wolf shifter and though he has a family, he is what he considers himself a lone wolf. He is not really good with other people and he just enjoys his own company. He also enjoys running his business. What started out as a hobby in college brewing his own beer actually turned out to be Jackson’s life passion. When at the hospital one day, Jackson runs into his soul mate. Jackson knew immediately that this was his soul mate.

Jackson never thought he would meet his soul mate. So he was surprised. But what surprises Jackson even more is that his soul mate is a man. Jackson is just blown away by that considering he is not gay. His soul mate is a man named Leo.

Leo works with children as a music therapist and he is also human. When he and Jackson meet and Jackson tells him they are soul mates, Leo is shocked. He is not shocked in a bad way though. He is not opposed to being with a wolf shifter. Some people find a human-wolf pair to be unnatural. There are even groups that try and make the pairing of human and wolves to be not allowed. At any cost actually. But Leo is not going to let groups like this come between him and Jackson.

No it is Jackson that keeps coming between Jackson and Leo. He is so convinced that he is not gay that he is putting undue pressure on them and their soul bond. Can Leo and Jackson figure things out? How far will this group go to keep human-wolf pairs apart?

Like I said this was not one of my favorite books. Jackson is a real jerk even though Leo kept giving him chance after chance to change his attitude and feelings. Jackson is also a selfish individual. He wants everything his way and rarely thought of Leo’s feelings. I did not like that. I definitely did not like the fact that Jackson kept denying his sexuality even after he and Leo decided to make a go of things. I also did not like that this book is supposed to be a mystery but there was not a lot of mystery to this storyline. So that was really disappointing. This is one of those books that you will have to read and make your own decision on.

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time. I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books. Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.
