Two boys. One love. Ten summers.

Are you okay?

The first words Zed says to Caspian, and the first time someone has cared about the answer. On a hot summer’s day, the lives of two boys are changed forever. A rebel and a risk taker, Caspian doesn’t give a damn for the consequences. Studious and obedient, Zed is the good boy who is never good enough.

The two couldn’t be more different, but there’s one thing they share, a need to belong to someone who understands them, someone who cares. Their friendship goes deeper than either can possibly imagine. They’re young, in love, and planning their future when an act of betrayal tears them apart.

Fate deals its hand. Seasons pass. Zed’s words follow Caspian through pain, fear and into the darkest of places. Friendships can last a lifetime, even when the world conspires to crush them. But this is more than friendship. This is love and they’re not going to let it slip through their fingers.

The Story of Us is a tale of love and survival, and the triumph of good over evil against the odds.

The Story of Us is a new adult contemporary romance. It deals with family and social issues, violence and cruelty to children but not sexual assault, sexual situations, and has dark elements and suspense. The events and locations are a mixture of real and fictional. The characters are fictional.

The Story Of Us is the complete story of Zeb and Caspian. Now be forewarned this is a long book but it is worth the read.

Trigger Warnings: child abuse, graphic details, bombings.

Barbara Elsborg did an incredible job on this book. This book follows the life of Zeb and Caspian from the time they meet as boys thru their adulthood and all the troubles that followed them. There were good and bad times these men had to endure.

Zed always wondered why his father has always hated him. Zeb knows this to be true because no matter what Zeb does it is never good enough and most times his father shows his displeasure by hurting Zeb. Zeb is trying so hard to hold out until he is sixteen before he leaves but each time his father hits him it gets harder and harder to do. After once again hurting Zeb, Zeb gets up early the next morning and leaves before he can run into his father.

On this day something amazing happens and he meets another boy named Caspian. Caspian and Zeb hit it off immediately and become fast friends. Though they are friends, Zeb knows better then telling his father about him. Caspian does not have an easy life where his father is concerned either. The situations are different but in some ways worse and better at the same time.

As time goes on the closer these two boys become. So much so that each boy starts to realize their friendship is turning to attraction. Both are scared to act on it at first but both know how they feel for the other. Now they just need to let each other in on their attraction to the other.

After another round with his father, Zeb can no longer wait to leave. The beatings are getting worse and Zeb knows they will continue to get worse. So when he tells Caspian he cannot stay any longer, Caspian decides the time has come for the two of them to leave. They make plans but before they can put these plans in motion, Caspian and Zeb finally admit to how they feel for the other and get caught in the process by Caspian older brother. The plans they have made to leave and getting caught by the brother sets into motion a series of events that is going to forever change their lives. The question is, can Zeb and Caspian survive the outcome of these events?

This was such a great read. I really enjoyed this book. The description I just gave is just a very small part of this book and what happens next will blow your mind. I could not believe everything that happened. Barbara Elsborg did such an incredible job on this book.

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time. I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books. Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.
