Enhanced World: Book Four

To protect and serve…. All Vance Connelly ever wanted to do was continue his family’s tradition and join the Tampa Police Department, but his dreams were crushed the day he woke with the enhanced mark on his face. After years of struggling to adjust to life as an enhanced human, by a stroke of luck, he met Talon Valdez and became a proud member of the FBI’s Human Enhanced Rescue Organization.

Samuel “Angel” Piper is eager to leave his DEA undercover work behind as he joins the HERO team as Vance’s regular human partner. But Sam’s painful past is ever present, just below the surface of the life he has built for himself as an ambitious young agent. When the team investigates rumors of a new drug using enhanced blood, the case’s mysterious connection to Sam threatens not just his life but Vance’s.

Trust doesn’t come easy for Sam, but Vance is willing to fight to convince his partner that the strength of his heart might be the salvation they both need.

Victoria Sue did it once again. She wrote another incredible book in the Enhanced series. With each book comes more danger, action, and drama but also love comes along with all of that. With each new story also comes a new danger to the Enhanced team and the members that make up this team. This is Vance’s story and boy does this story have some twists I did not see coming.

Vance has always had issues with how big he is. He tries to blend in even though that is really not possible. He tries to make himself look smaller, which again is not possible. But the one thing he has never let his bigness affect is how he treats others.

Vance is now partnered up with a man named Sam that has recently transferred from the DEA to the Enhanced Unit. But before their partnership can be put together and forged, Vance has to join forces with Sam to close a case Sam had with the DEA. But what neither realizes at the time is this case was about to get more complicated and is about to follow them back to the Enhanced division.

Vance has had a crush on Sam from almost the moment they met but he knows he does not stand a chance with him because Sam is not gay or even Bi. Or at least he does not think he is and Sam has never bothered to tell Vance any differently. So Vance keeps his feelings to himself.

The more in depth these two men get into this investigation the closer they become. So close when Vance realizes Sam is gay, he calls him out on it and is hurt when he finds out why Sam never told him.

This investigation has taken some twists and turns. And before long the danger is pretty much knocking on the front door for both Sam and Vance. If these two men are not careful either one or both could end up hurt or dead before they can figure out what is going on between them, if anything.

This was such a great read!!! I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait for the next book in this series to come out. I have a feeling it will be Daniel and Eli’s turn to figure out what is going on between them.

Author

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.

  • Victoria Sue is a new to me author and after reading Cochet THIRDS series I’m on the look out for, not something similar because only disappointment awaits there, urban-fantasy that combines a paranormal partner with a normal one (I blame Sherrilyn Kenyon) so seeing this review I’ll definitely give the series a go!
