Jared’s been all over the world as a traveling manny with Holiday Helpers, and the itch to put down roots is starting to eclipse his wanderlust—especially since his current family is a handful.

After culinary school, Wes did some wandering of his own, exploring Central America before settling as a resort chef in his mother’s homeland of Costa Rica, a place he loves and where he plans to stay. If he’s learned one thing, it’s to be wary of flings with vacationers. Still, he can’t stand to watch two little Swiss kids lose their belief in Saint Nicholas, so he’ll lend a hand to the manny assisting the family. It won’t be easy to recreate a traditional European Christmas in a tropical paradise.

Between a snowball fight on a sunny beach and sledding down an active volcano, Jared and Wes discover some renewed holiday magic of their own. Can they make it last a lifetime?

Jared, a career traveling “manny” with Holiday Helpers, arrives in Costa Rica for a Christmas holiday with the Bischof family, charged with minding the twins Lukas and Lia and entertaining them and generally keeping them busy and away from their disturbingly distant parents. Being from Switzerland, the twins are worried that Saint Nicholas won’t be able to find them to deliver their presents on December 6th, St. Nicholas’ Day.

Settling into their resort, Jared signs the twins up for daily surf lessons and meets their teacher Wes, who doubles as one of the resort’s chefs. Wes and Jared quickly fall into an easy relationship (with no on-page sex) and they take the kids sledding down an active volcano and make a wonderful St. Nicholas’ Day for them. This story is a sweet holiday read and I adored the no-angst relationship between Wes and Jared and their HEA. 4 stars.

Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.  Frederick Douglas

I distinctly remember that day in school when, all of a sudden, those squiggles on the page made sense and I could read. It has changed my life in ways I still cannot comprehend.

My favorite M/M tropes are friends-to-lovers, murder/mysteries, amnesia, hurt/healing and historicals. Shifters, vampires, paranormal? Meh … not in my wheelhouse, but I’m a sucker for a well-written well-plotted book, no matter the genre.

Favorite authors includes Brandon Witt, Rick R. Reed, Abigail Roux, Jay Northcote, JL Merrow, KJ Charles, Lane Hayes, Marshall Thornton and so many more.
