Kenneth Brannigan is a small-town history professor. He’s happy with his life, loves the classes he teaches, and lives in a tiny apartment in a converted house with his best friend, Tim, next door. He’s still recovering from a bad breakup and is content to stick to his comfortable routine. It’s Tim who insists he come to the Queer Alliance’s Rainbow Mixer.

At the mixer, Kenn meets David Burgundy, a new-to-town TA who is working on his masters. Dave is drawn immediately to Kenn and is thrilled when Kenn offers to show him the best pizza place in town. One meal leads to two, which leads to Dave and Kenn spending most of their free time together… and Kenn loosening his self-imposed rules regarding dating and sex for some kinky fun.

Kenn’s ex isn’t going to just let Kenn be, though, and the happier Kenn is with Dave, the less the ex likes it. Will Kenn continue to run away from his past, or will his relationship with Dave help him face it head-on?

This was a good read. It is a story about a man who endured mental and physical abuse from his ex-husband and feels like he is not ready to move on yet even after all this time. But when you meet the right person, moving on becomes the number one priority. But letting go of the past is not always easy when the ex-husband has made it his mission to not let it happen easily.

Kenn is the man I was just describing that endured so much pain from his ex husband. Even though Kenn is an extremely smart man, even a professor, he has let his ex get in his head and prevent him from moving on much less maybe finally living the life he has wanted for a long time now. His ex has made him feel like less a person for the things that turn him on and now he believes those lies. So he is scared to even date.

But when he meets Dave, there is no denying he is extremely attracted to the man. And after spending some time together and losing track of time, there is no denying there is definitely something between them. After spending more time together and learning to trust one another, they both start to open up about things that interest them.

Just as they start to get their footing, Kenn’s ex decides it is time to ruin Kenn’s happiness. Will Kenn and Dave be able to continue to grow even with Kenn’s ex trying to ruin what they have been working towards together?

This was a great read. I enjoyed this book. The only thing is I wish there had been in depth explanation about the ramifications of the ex and what happened to him in the end. Other than that this was a good read.

Galley copy of Educating The Professor provided by Dreamspinner Press in exchange of an honest review.

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time.

I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books.

Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.
