Andrew Blackwell is only one of countless humans who managed to survive post-World War III. Living in the shell of what was once New York City, he focuses on working hard and playing hard. Nothing else matters.
But fate has other ideas, and they arrive in the form of a rather surly angel who’s been sent to find the one special human who can possibly help save humankind.
Thrown into yet another war, Andrew has no choice but to trust Mikhail … no matter where the angel may lead him.
This book is what I would call a prelude to what is to come. As to what that all is, I have yet to fully figure out. What I can tell you is this is a short story that gives you some information but not enough to figure out where the author is going to go with this series. So of course for me that left me wanting more because now I am curious what Mychael Black has up his sleeve for this series.
This book starts out after what I can figure is a war that left earth in shambles. What is left of the world is sparse and only some of the truly lucky ones have the amenities to at the very least make them feel comfortable even with so little. One of those that has more than most is a man named Andrew.
Andrew, at least in my opinion, is not really a bad man. He is one of the those that is lucky enough to have something that is what was left of a lot of nothing. But Andrew is lacking in one area and that is believing in love. He is one of those men that will jump from one man to the other just to get off. He rarely, if ever, gets too intimate with them. So after a night with a man named Dale, he was shocked to come out of the shower to find a stranger in his room.
The stranger turns out to be a man Mikhail. Mikhail is not a normal man. He is so much more. And even though Andrew is frightened by him, he cannot deny that he is attracted to him as well. But when Mikhail explains the reason for him being in Andrew’s room, Andrew is blown away by what he learns. Can Andrew trust this stranger? Is he really to believe what he is hearing and seeing?
Like I said, I am not yet sure where Mychael plans to take this series but I will say that I am curious to find out. I am not sure if that is what Mychael’s intention is but that is the way this played out for me. Now I cannot wait for the next book to come out to see if there will be any indications as to where this series is going. I look forward to finding out!!
