Blurb:

Sam’s freaking out. He’s 30 in three weeks. And what has he done in his twenties? It’s pretty simple math: nothing exciting at all. But hey, he has three weeks right? Maybe that’s just enough time to tick his way through a 20s Must Do List . . .

Luke’s freaking screwed. He’s come out to his family, and his friends. Except there’s a certain someone who doesn’t know yet: his neighbor of 7 years. Who also happens to be his best friend. Who Luke needs to tell the truth, but he just . . . can’t . . . seem to . . .

Jeremy’s freaking over-the-moon. It’s the countdown to his 15th birthday, and his goal is simple. No matter what, he’s going to spend heaps of time with saucy Suzy. But first he needs to get his over-protective, no-girlfriend-’cause-you’ll-get-her-pregnant parents off his back. And what better way than pretending he’s gay?

Sam, Luke, and Jeremy. Three guys who have a lot of history together, and a lot of future too—

—well, if they can sort out their issues, that is.

This made my heart ache. It was humbling and sweet with a nice, slooooooow burn.

This was the perfect example of a Gay For You story. After 7 years of being so much more than neighbors, Luke realizes that he’s in love with Sam. And Sam is straight. Like, S-T-R-A-I-G-H-T straight. And there’s the rub.

So, when Sam edges closer and closer to that elusive 30th birthday, he decides to create a bucket list and Luke takes it upon himself to help him out. But there are things on the list that are a bit taboo for a completely unbent Sam, which makes things interesting.

There are stories that need the physical intimacy to carry them along and then there are stories like this that make the waiting until almost the very end so very worth it. It’s truly a nod to writing done right when you can create a story that moves at a good pace and force the burn until the end.

I cannot wait to get started on book 2 in this series. Cannot wait!

Author

Reading has become such a huge part of my life as an adult. I love the escape, but I also try to take something from each story for myself. I am a lover of words. I love dialogue. I love a slow burn and a happy ever after.
