Every assassin has an exit strategy – their ultimate plan for leaving that dangerous life and disappearing. They just never expect to live long enough to enact it.
Gabriel Prescott was no different.
But everything changed when he met fellow mercenary Justin Mallory.
Now he’s racing across Europe with Justin to put to rest old threats before they can end both their lives.
Of course, it will also mean coming clean to Justin about exactly who he is and who wants him dead. Gabriel can only hope that Justin will still want him when the truth comes out.
This is second book in series and it showed that I haven’t read the first – I was missing background on Gabriel’s and Justin’s relationship. (It must have been interesting!)
It’s clear they are committed to each other and difference in their personalities make it easy to discern the pull they have toward each other. The story is chock full of action and danger as Gabriel decides to deal with his past. It brings some friction in his relationship with Justin, as both men are hell bent on doing what they consider right. I was thrilled with description of Budapest (I want to visit!).
In among hair raising moments are mixed snatches of mushy times as Gabriel and Justin face just what they mean to each other.
I was less enamored of secondary characters, as their role was too predictable and spoiled the story for me.
The action plot was great, but I was missing some pieces in men’s dynamic which I assume reading first book would give. I’ll recommend reading the books in order.
I took half star off because I was unhappy with secondary characters, but I liked first part very much and it’s good choice for readers seeking action filled romp!
