Lach has spent the last few thousand years counting only on himself. What he needed, he took. What he wanted, he won with charm. All except a god he turned his back on an age ago, when he had a different name and didn’t know what he was giving up.
Thanatos, god of merciful death, is one of the gentlest gods in the pantheon—easing the transition between life and death for billions of mortals. But he has faced eternity alone. After breaking his heart on the sharp words of a fisherman’s son, he hasn’t been able to connect with anyone.
Now, Lach is crashing back into Thanatos’s life, dragging him into an adventure that could save the world . . . or kill them both.
This was another good read in this series but I will be honest when I say it is one of those slow build up reads. The reason I say this is because it was slow going at first but eventually it got to the more exciting parts of the read and the book took off from there. I really love books about Greek gods and this was a great read.
This is Thanatos’ book. Thanatos is the God of death! Though he is not like what you would think he would be. He does not enjoy death. Just the opposite really but Thanatos’ main job is to help those that are lost reach Elysium. Because of his gift from the Gods he lost the one person who he truly loved…Lach. Lach could not handle being with the person who represented death.
Lach knew when he told Thanatos many years ago that he could not be happy with death that he would hurt him. But Lach at the time was running scared and ran from everything in his life. Now years later Lach is about to come face to face with the biggest mistake he ever made, pushing Thanatos from his life.
Something is going on with the crops all around the world. He knows that if something does not change then the world as they know it will change. That is why Lach is seeking Thanatos’ help. They have to find the scythe of Cronus which was locked away by Zues long long ago.
Once Lach convinces Thanatos, he agrees to help Lach. Lach also hopes that Thanatos will give him a second chance when he realizes that Lach knows he messed up. But Thanatos is not going to make it easy on Lach. Lach is going to have to prove to Thanatos he is here to stay this time. But can Lach actually do that?
As their search for the scythe increases as well as danger, can Lach win Thanatos back? What will happen to Lach when he realizes someone he thought was a friend turns on him.
This was a great read. I really enjoy this series and as always I cannot wait for the next book to come out. Hopefully the wait will not be long.
