Omega wolf shifter, Vance, and the rest of his small pack have finally found an Alpha willing to take them on and were still trying to regain their footing when the McBane Pack attacked them. When a vampire appears in front of him, Vance realizes he’s looking into the ice-blue eyes of his mate, and the fact that his mate is something other than wolf scares him.
Sakima knew the wolf shifter was his destined companion the moment he scented him at Elysium, but claiming the gorgeous young Omega wolf is a dangerous proposition. Vance and his unconventional pack have attracted the attention of the vampire coven. As the owner of Elysium, Sakima has been asked to use the club to gather information on the powerful interspecies pack and its Alpha.
Unfortunately for Vance and Sakima, the vampire coven and the continued attacks by the McBane Pack are only a portion of their problems. Amidst concerns over Alpha Tanner’s abilities growing with Sakima’s addition to the pack, a spurned ex targets Vance in an attempt to remove him from Sakima’s life, and Elysium becomes a hot bed for interspecies mingling where anyone could be an enemy.
I am not sure what is up with me reading books that are a few books into a series without reading the past books but that is where I am at. I am once again starting a series without reading the first book but I will go back and read it now. The good thing is though, this is only book two in this series so I am not behind on what is going on. I was able to pick up the concept of this series up pretty quickly and I like what I have ready so far.
The Chevalier Pack consists of not only wolf shifters but also dragon shifters, now a vampire, and I have a feeling in the next book a Sorcerer if the last chapter of this book is anything to go by. This pack is extremely feared by several different packs and covens because their alpha has had the abilities thus far to do things that normal alpha/shifter/Wolf should not be able to do. Some believe that this is due to the Chevalier blood line that was supposedly eliminated many, many, many years ago. So each new member that comes into the fold of the pack and mates with their true mates now has to worry about danger that may come the packs way.
Vance is the omega in the pack. He follows his true nature by taking care of the pack but in some ways he does not find himself as strong as the others. Vance feels like he is to fearful to help out when the pack may need him so when his true mate comes calling, he of course reverts to that state of mind and is fearful of him because he is a vampire. Vance does not know much about vampires other then what the myths are about them so he is shaken to find out his true mate is one.
Sakima knows immediately when he approaches his mate that he is fearful of him even though he also knows that his mate feels their pull to one another. So for this reason Sakima is willing to take things slowly and let Vance come to realize that there is nothing to be scared of.
Once Sakima and Vance start spending time together, Vance pretty much blossoms towards Sakima and the fact that they are mates. Both men grow closer with each passing moment that they spend together. But when Vance decides to do as any Omega would and feed his mate, this lands Vance and his best friend Ean in some major trouble.
With danger coming at this pack from all directions, Sakima decides that he will do what he has to do in order to protect not only his mate but the family his mate has chosen. This may not be an easy feat but if all the pack bands together they my just stand a chance. Only time will tell.
This was a great read!! I truly look forward to the next book when it comes available because I want to know exactly what is going to happen to this pack. I feel like they have a very turbulent storm coming there way. I just only hope that they will be prepared for it when it comes. Kay Doherty has definitely gotten my attention with the series. This was a great read!!
