Nicky Reed may have won the battle regarding baby shifters working as policemen, but he’s not so sure about the war. His mate and superior officer, Sam Black, is still overprotective with a capital O. As a result, Nicky sometimes finds himself repressing some of Tiny’s—his snow leopard cub other half’s—natural urges. Which leads to frustration on Nicky’s part.

With a new drug called Nemesis killing in record numbers, Alpha Unit One must find out who’s behind this horrible narcotic and get it off the streets—a tall enough order without press accusations that baby shifters are to blame for the team’s lack of success.

Their investigation into Nemesis leads Nicky and Sam and the rest of the team into unexpected waters. Will the stress rip the squad apart? The baby shifters may find themselves unable to perform the job they love: protecting the people of New York City. And Nicky may be in over his head—in more ways than one.

I like this series so far. It has been a good first two books. This is not your typical shifter series. This series includes what is considered baby shifters…. in other words instead of a full grown shifter like their human counterpart, when they do shift they shift into a baby shifter. There is a huge discrimination against a baby shifters in this series. So that and the drug that is out on the streets affecting those who take it is what this series is primarily about.

Nicky is what is considered a baby shifter. Even though he tried to hide this side of his self from other people on the police force, he was found out about. At first there was issues with him being a baby shifter because he should not be aloud on the force but his mate is on the force as well.

Sam is the head over the Alpha Unit One and he is also Nicky’s fated mate. It is not always easy having a mate that is a baby shifter. Sam worries constantly about Nicky and Nicky’s Baby Shifter side, Tiny. But he will not be one of those people that puts Nicky in a box because he is a baby shifter. So he just tries to protect Nicky and Tiny the best that he can.

When Nemesis keeps making appearances on the street, Alpha Unit One starts investigating and they come up with some serious issues. Not only is the drug killing those who take it but the lab has come back and found some suspicious ingredients added in with the drug as well.

When a new lead turns into a dangerous situation, everyone is going to have to work together to get out of it unharmed and alive. What will happen when Sam realizes that Nicky is in much more serious danger then the rest of them? Will he be able to get to him in time?

This was a good read. I really enjoyed this book and I am really enjoying this series. Just like book one in this series, I truly look forward to the next book once it comes out. This book is full of love, danger, action, and a lot of opinions. You will definitely find yourself laughing at some of the antics that goes on. Good read!!

Hello, I am an avid reader of male/male books. I do not have a favorite genre when it comes to male/male books because I love all of them from romance, dark reads, paranormal, shifter, threesome, whatever I see that catches my eye at the time. I read books about rock stars, CEOs, military, cops, and just the original plain old good boy types of books. Basically when it comes to a book, I read whatever I am in the mood for at the time. So my tastes varies from day to day and sometimes even hour to hour.
