A few years ago at GRL Atlanta, we went to lunch with author Jessica Freely and got into a prolonged discussion about musicians in m/m romance. Guitarists and singers usually got all the love, and since Clancy was a drummer in high school, we thought that was unfair. The delicious lunch (Atlanta has the best food!) inspired talk of chef romance as well, and somehow during the long, uphill trudge back to the Melia hotel, we combined the notions to come up with a chef and a drummer falling in love. Freely mentioned reality TV making an interesting backdrop for a novel, and somehow Wyatt’s Recipes for Wooing Rock Stars was born: A novel that combines some of our favorite things–foodie competition shows and hot rockers–with some things we wish got more love–beefy bears and flirty drummers.
