A Gay Book Reviews 5+ star read!

Brayden Clare never wanted to return to small town life. Blond, athletic, and struggling with his sexual identity, a casual relationship on the beach in Florida suits him much better. When a family emergency calls him home, he is forced to trade his personal freedom for a job as a bartender in a town where everybody thinks they know who he is, and nobody has a clue—including Brayden.

Jenner Parrish is the owner and operator of Parrish Pub, the social hub of Robertsville, Pennsylvania. Jenner is charming, dominant, and popular since they were both in high school together. Brayden finds his new boss intimidating, and is daunted to find that turns him on. Jenner finds his new recruit intriguing but mustn’t dare to ask an employee to submit to him.

The two men find what they’re seeking at a masked BDSM ball in the next town over, and are startled to discover their desires rest much, much closer to home.

bound by lies

Jesus, Mary and Joseph, I loved this book, the story of two incredibly damaged souls, Jenner, in a bit of a self-exile from friends and family and sweet Brayden, abandoned by his father in death and his mother in selfishness and perhaps a bit of mental illness, these two are a perfect match. Both gay and in the closet, both have BDSM tendencies. Jenner as a sadist and Brayden as a masochist. I mean, they are so fucked up and perfect for each other, that it is almost as if no one else would even have them! They start a Master/slave relationship that is beyond kinky, IMHO, but obviously works for them and would seem outrageous in any regular social setting.

Spoiler
So outrageous in fact that Jenner’s best friends and roommates come to blows with him over protecting Brayden from emotional and bodily harm. As they had every right to, in my opinion!
No matter how fucked up these two seemed together, I absolutely fell in love with them and their power exchange. The sex was ridiculously hot, some of the hottest I’ve ever read. And then there was romance and love and joy and the way these two interacted. The passion Jenner felt for Brayden was especially crazy, mental and spectacular. Lynn Kelling wrote it so well, I could feel the emotion in the pit of my stomach as I read it.

If you like M/M romance BDSM, you MUST read this book! I’m not just going to recommend it. I’m telling you to read it! If you are on the fence about BDSM but love M/M romance, I can strongly recommend because of the fabulous MCs and their power exchange, as long as you keep an open mind. If you aren’t into BDSM at all, obviously, this isn’t for you.

*sigh* I really loved this book. I hope, if you read it, it speaks to you the way it spoke to me.
