Loveland, Colorado is a special place all year around, a community of creativity and art, with scenic views and majestic mountains. But the town really shines once a year, on Valentine’s Day.

Lucky Roberts has lived in Loveland his whole life. He has good friends, strong family support, and is all about keeping his community fun and alive. The only thing Lucky has been “unlucky” with is love. But rather than avoiding February fourteenth in his hometown, he throws himself into helping others deliver their messages of love.

Enter Jack Canon. Jack moved to Loveland for a fresh start, in both his personal and professional lives. After a tough year, he’s finally hoping to just blend in, maybe carve a little niche for himself that his parents would have been proud of. What he didn’t expect was a pseudo-lumberjack with a killer body and shy smile to turn his world upside down – and he sure didn’t expect to like it so much.

When Lucky meets Jack, he feels like a thirteen year-old with his first crush. He’s clumsy, stammering, and the first greeting out of his mouth is a less than articulate, “Wow!” Words like adorable and manbun suddenly become part of his vocabulary as he discovers a deep, hidden need to romance the hell out of Jack.

And what better way to do that than during the most romantic season in the City of Love?

I have a shelf on GoodReads called Fuck Yeah 5+ Stars. Only the best-of-the-best are on this shelf and the fantastic Unbreak My Heart by K-Lee Klein is one of them. Unbreak my Heart is a heart-wrenching tale of two men who find each other at the lowest point in their lives. It is absolutely wonderful, but full of angst and heartache.

Since I am such a big fan of Ms. Klein’s work, I jumped at the change to read another of her books but braced myself for a bit of heartache. Well, I was WAY off here because this tale of two men in a small town in Colorado is flowers and bunnies and romance and sunshine!

This is a story of a hockey coach and a kindergarten teacher. Yes, you heard me right. SCORE! It doesn’t get more adorable then that. The hockey coach, Lucky, is described as a lumberjack-type (see cover) with a heart-of-gold. Kindergarten teacher Jack is worldly and handsome and looking to reinvent himself after leaving the saccharine life he led in California. Sparks fly when the two meet.

The burn here is SSSSSLLLLOOOOWWWWW. These two take their sweet time getting to the sex, but the reasoning works and makes the craving that much sweeter. These two are literally courting one another in a very old fashion way. Being a reader who likes the sexy times, I was disappointed with the ending, which was very HFN and before these men officially consummated their relationship, but the good news if that this is a series and we have not seen the last of Lucky and Jack! No, there is no cliffhanger, and the story ends on a sweet note, and I quote:

The end… for now.

I look forward to more of Lucky and Jack. I’m hoping for more passion because the connection and feelings are already there. It’s a perfect Valentine’s Day gay romance!

Oh, did I forget to mention that kindergarten teacher Jack rocks long hair and a manbun? How silly of me! Here is my Jack, since we already have Lucky on the cover.
